In a long-awaited step, Al-Birr Specialized Hospital opened in Basarta on the international road in Damietta, as part of the governorate's National Day celebrations, attended by the Governor of Damietta and health and social solidarity officials.
The hospital includes outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, radiology, operating rooms and a neonatal unit, serving Basarta and surrounding villages.
The hospital is the fruit of years of generous donations, and it still needs support to operate and to treat patients who cannot afford care.
