Since 2007
Al-Birr wal-Taqwa Egyptian Central Association
We began in 2007 in the village of Basarta, Damietta, with "one pound from every home". With your support we grew into a central association serving the most vulnerable families across Egypt.
The association was founded in 2007 in Basarta, Damietta, collecting the zakat of crops and dairy from villagers, and then with a simple idea: "one pound from every home".
By the grace of God and people's trust, our work expanded to all of Damietta in 2010 and to every governorate in 2012. In 2018 we became a central association under the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
Today we have branches and offices across Egypt, projects in water, housing, health, education and sponsorship, and a specialized hospital opened in 2026.
Our vision
A development institution pursuing social solidarity through organised volunteer charity work, for the sustainable development of those we serve.
Our mission
